Xiaomi has published a list of devices set to receive the Android Nougat update. The news arrives from Chinese website IT House (via Gizmochina) which got its hands on an official Xiaomi poster revealing the smartphones due for the upgrade. The poster names 14 devices guaranteed for Nougat, eight of which will get Android 7.0 and four of which will be upgraded to Android 7.1. The devices to due to receive Android 7.0 include: Redmi 4X Redmi Note 4X Mi Max Mi Note 2 Mi MIX Mi 4C Mi 4S Mi 5 Mi 5s Mi 5s Plus Meanwhile, those listed for Android 7.1 Nougat are: Mi 6 Mi Max 2 Mi 5C Redmi 4X Notable exclusions from the list include the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4 — both of which were released in 2017. It’s possible that these will instead jump straight to Android 8.0 when it is launched later this year. Though it’s quite late in the day for Xiaomi to confirm which of its handsets due for Nougat — it was released last August and other manufacturers outlined their update roadmap back in 2016 — Xiaomi fans will no doubt appreciate the news. To our knowledge, however, Xiaomi hasn’t provided an ETA for the rollout. We’ll let you know when we learn more.
